A Legacy of Faith and Education
Pat Tierney dedicated 44 years to Catholic education, including 31 years of service with the Diocese of St. Augustine. During her career, she taught at Bishop Kenny High School before serving as Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese, a role she held until her retirement in 2009. "Bishop Kenny is a wonderful school for Catholic education," says Mrs. Tierney, "preparing its students for both college and life. Bishop Kenny has continued a long tradition of Catholic Education for 73 years. Over these years, the core values of faith, service, as well academic excellence have been entrenched in its mission." Her commitment to faith and learning inspired her to establish the William and Patricia Tierney Scholarship, an endowed fund supporting faith-filled female students who are active in their parish and engaged in community service. As part of her lasting legacy, Mrs. Tierney has included Bishop Kenny High School in her estate plans with a bequest. This gift will provide additional funding for the William and Patricia Tierney Scholarship, ensuring future generations of young women at BK continue to thrive academically and spiritually.
